Made of Snow and Story
A New Collection by Master Storyteller Lana Skauge
In Made of Snow and Story, Lana Skauge—beloved Canadian performer and writer—offers her most heartfelt collection yet. These stories and poems invite you to sit quietly, breathe deeply, and journey through the beauty, loss, resilience, and quiet joy that shape our lives.
Like snow falling outside a prairie window, this book blankets you in reflection and wonder. You’ll find yourself in childhood kitchens and along windswept sidewalks, in fantastical landscapes and fierce interior storms. With characteristic warmth and insight, Skauge guides you through an emotional terrain where grief and laughter hold hands, where small, sharp mischief dances alongside deep, aching truth.
Each piece pulses with the rhythm of the Canadian spirit—fiercely kind, quietly bold, and full of grit. These are tales shaped by snow: how it silences the world, sharpens attention, and insists we find warmth within. Whether you’re drawn to the magic of memory or the spark of the unexpected, this collection promises to move, uplift, and surprise.
From her cherished stage performances to brand new gems, Skauge brings her very best to these pages. If you've ever loved a winter morning, whispered a story into the hush, or dared to keep going after the avalanche—this book is for you.
Resilient. Reflective. Fierce.
Made of Snow and Story will leave footprints on your heart.
