Jeanne Allen is the author of the science fiction romance novel Orphilion Dreams and the novellas “Isadora” and “Treasure of Arvalis,” both published in the critically acclaimed Twilight Crossings anthologies of speculative fiction. Jeanne teaches science in the secondary school and physics and chemistry at the college freshman level. She lives in the North Woods of Minnesota.
Piers Anthony is one of the world's most popular SF/Fantasy authors having written 131 novels at last count. His books are read and loved by millions of readers around the world, and he daily receives letters and e-mails from his devoted fans. Piers Anthony lives in Inverness, Florida.
Milena Benini is a writer, translator and editor of speculative fiction from Croatia, with a B.Litt. from St. George University, Oxford. She has written six novels and has twice won the SFera award (Croatian national SF award), in 1998 for Kaos (Chaos) and in 2006 for her latest novel McGuffin Link. She has also written numerous short stories, a number of which were published in English as well, and has taught at several writing workshops, some for genre writers and some more general.
Orson Scott Card is an internationally published and award winning author. His numerous awards include being the first author to win both a Hugo and a Nebula for Best Novel in consecutive years and won a Hugo for his nonfiction book How to Write SF & Fantasy. He is currently a professor of writing and literature at Southern Virginia University and lives in Greensboro, North Carolina.
Ian Irvine is an author of nine bestselling fantasy novels, a trilogy of SF eco-thrillers and various fantasy novels for children; his books have been published in eleven countries. Ian is also a marine scientist and has developed some of Australia's national guidelines for the protection of the oceanic environment. Ian lives with his family in the mountains of northern NSW Australia.
Dave A. Law is a published writer and editor whose short stories, poetry, articles, and comic books have seen print in various publications over the last two decades. He has a BSc in Computer Information Systems with highest honors and works as a software developer. He currently runs a software company for writers, Intellectus Enterprises, is chairman of an e-publisher, Virtual Tales, and sits on the editorial board of Flash Me Magazine. He lives in Calgary, Canada with wife and two daughters.
Carol Hightshoe has been published in various anthologies and magazines including Creature Fantastic, Illuminated Manuscripts, PanGaia Magazine, Stories of Strength, The Stygian Soul, Baen's Universe, and Tales of the Talisman. In addition to her own writing, she is the editor of the online e-zines: The Lorelei Signal and Sorcerous Signals. She is also a member of SFWA, SCBWI, Broad Universe, and Pikes Peak Writers.
Michael McRae has a rather diverse background in medical science and science communication, having worked in the past as a medical scientist and more recently as a science communicator traveling around Australia, encouraging the public to see the benefits of scientific literacy and critical thinking. He has taught science in London and currently teaches secondary school in Australia. He is a contributing author to The Complete Guide to Writing Fantasy.
Darin Park was born in Newfoundland, Canada, and he has worked largely as a courtroom recorder and transcriptionist. He fell in love with Science Fiction at an early age. His favorite authors include Isaac Asimov, Robert Heinlein, and Spider Robinson. He has published eight short stories, and his humorous short, “The Devil, You Say?” won the Publisher's Choice Award in Futures Magazine in 2001. He originated the book concept and edited The Complete Guide to Writing Fantasy published by Dragon Moon Press.
Kim Richards writes Horror, Science Fiction and Fantasy, as well as children's fiction. She wrote “Beauty Is” for Surreal Magazine #4, and has fiction to be published in the forthcoming A Firestorm of Dragons and Mindscaps anthologies. Currently, she produces a monthly newsletter for Pretty-Scary.net and a quarterly newsletter for the Santa Rosa Junior College Neighborhood Association. She lives in Santa Rosa, California.
Simon Rose has won critical acclaim and a growing and devoted fan base among children, parents, and teachers for his novels about medieval history, strange dimensions, science, and magic. Bud Sparhawk has appeared frequently in SF magazines and anthologies and has been a three-time finalist for the Nebula. He has a degree in Mathematics from the University of Maryland, an MBA in Finance from Oklahoma City University and is the vice president of a small company. He lives with his wife in Annapolis, Maryland.
Bob Nailor’s is a science fiction and fantasy author, poet, and columnist. He was the production manager for The Emporium Gazette, an online writer's newspaper. Bob contributed to The Complete Guide to Writing Fantasy Volume Two. His stories have been included in the anthologies 13 Nights of Blood: Legends of the Vampire, Spirits of Blue and Grey: Ghosts of the Civil War, and The Archives of Arrissia. He is currently the vice president of the Northwest Ohio Writer's Forum, Toledo, OH and is the coordinator for the NW Ohio Writers' Conference.
Tina Morgan is the Managing Editor for Fiction Factor e-zine, an online magazine for fiction writers, and publisher of The Fractured Publisher, a humorous e-zine that promotes small press and e-books. Her stories, “Soulmate” and “Transcendence” appear in The Stygian Soul published by Double Dragon. She was a contributing author for The Complete Guide to Writing Fantasy Volume One and Two.
Wil McCarthy is a former contributing editor for WIRED magazine and the science columnist for the SciFi channel, where his popular “Lab Notes” column has been running since 1999. A lifetime member of the Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America, he has been nominated for the Nebula, Locus, AnLab, Colorado Book, Theodore Sturgeon and Philip K. Dick awards, and shares partial credit for a Webbie and a Game Developers' Choice Award. His short fiction has appeared in magazines like Analog, Asimov's, WIRED, Aboriginal SF and SF Age, and
his novels include the New York Times Notable Bloom, Amazon.com Best of Y2K The Collapsium (a national bestseller) and, most recently, To Crush
The Moon. He has also written for TV.
